Decorah has received 2.49 inches of rain over the last 48 hours, according to the National Weather Service in La Crosse.
All that rain is starting to cause problems. Wednesday evening a portion of the cliff next to Dug Road gave way and slid onto the trail. Dug Road is now closed while the debris is getting removed.
Meanwhile, the heavy rain has raised water levels on the Upper Iowa River--but not enough to cause concerns about flooding. The Upper Iowa River at Decorah crested at 5.31 feet early Thursday morning and was dropping by mid-morning. Flood stage at Decorah is 12 feet.
