WMC's Chief Medical Director will retire July 2nd

Winneshiek Medical Center Chief Medical Officer Dr. Susan Halter will officially retire on July 2nd.

Dr. Halter joined Winneshiek Medical Center in February of 2011 on an interim basis.  She had been working in La Crosse, then retired, but was persuaded to come out of retirement for the job in Decorah, although she maintained her home in La Crosse.

A ten member search committee will be holding interviews during June for a new Winneshiek Medical Center CMO.  Hospital officials say there probably will be a period of time when there is no Chief Medical Officer at the hospital, but they say "the search is going well."
