Figures are not yet final, but the Winneshiek County American Cancer Society's "Relay for Life" on Saturday raised around $33,000.

The threat of rain failed to keep away walkers, who got pledges for each lap they walked.  The event both honored those who had lost their lives to cancer and those who have survived cancers, as well as their caregivers.

Saturday's Relay for Life included a special memorial lap around Decorah Viking Stadium's track in memory of Kaitlyn Quandahl, the Decorah 5-year-old who lost her life to cancer last week.
