Askelson hired as Iowa Speedway track announcer

Decorah resident Les Askelson has been hired by Iowa Speedway in Newton to be their on-track announcer for the 2013 season, beginning this weekend with the K & N East series racing Friday and the NASCAR Nationwide Series this Saturday night.

In addition to working at the Iowa Speedway this weekend, Askelson will work during the Iowa Corn 250 Indy race June 22nd and 23rd; the NASCAR Camping World Truck series July 12th and 13th; races August 2nd and 3rd and the NASCAR Nationwide Series September 7th and 8th.

Says Les, "I have been announcing at area dirt tracks for 25 years and i am looking forward to the opportunity to announce at the Iowa speedway America's Place To Race in Newton."
