Historic Preservation officials commemorate Decorah Pool House's National Register of Historic Places listing

A crowd of around 40 people attending a ceremony Saturday morning marking the listing of the Decorah Municipal Bathhouse and Swimming Pool on the National Register of Historic Places.

Decorah Parks and Recreation Director Andy Nimrod and Decorah Historic Preservation Commission Chair Kyrl Henderson hosted the observance.

The Decorah Municipal Bathhouse and Swimming Pool was officially listed on National Register January 30th of 2012.  The facility has been in continuous use since it opened in the spring of 1937.

Also Saturday the annual Decorah Historic Preservation Award was presented to Greg Malone on behalf of T-Bock's owners Dominique and Michael Bockman for the historically sensitive restoration of the second floor of T-Bock's.
