Just a little more than two weeks remain of a 100-day bicycle trek across the Indian peninsula for three Decorah residents.  Ward and Jacky Budweg and Jeff Friedhof are now heading into the mountains of India and Nepal.

The trip has not been without excitement.  Earlier Jacky's arm was injured when a hotel sink crashed onto the floor of a bathroom she was in, with the shards cutting her.

Now Jeff has had his passport and billfold stolen while visiting the Golden Temple.  That forced him to head to New Delhi to visit the US Embassy, where he eventually got a new passport, Indian visa and Nepal visa, as well as notifying his bank and credit card companies.

Now the three are heading to the mountains of Nepal after a trip that has seen them bicycle around 5,000 kilometers, suffering only 6 flat tires,  2 broken spokes, 2 broken pedals and a broken rack on Jacky's bike.  They have also encountered numerous people and taken numerous photos.

Jacky and Ward are chronicling their trip on the website http://www.fromthebenchesoftheworld.com/
