Posted: Wed, May 22, 2013 8:46 PM

Residents or visitors excited about Winneshiek County and Northeast Iowa in general can now earn some money by sharing that enthusiasm with the online world.

Winneshiek County Development is looking for people willing to write for a new blogging platform called "GoodBlogs," a business created by Decorah entrepreneurs Jason Trout and Peter Awad.

Every post that gets voted to the homepage of http://www.goodblogs.com/exploreiowa/ will receive $15.

Winneshiek County Development, Inc. is partnering with Howard, Allamakee, Fayette, Clayton and Delaware counties via the Northeast Iowa Business Network (NIBN) to collaborate on offering this unique blogging platform to promote the area.

"We think GoodBlogs is an amazing online tool to help promote Northeast Iowa for visitors as well as potential future residents," said WCDI Director Randy Uhl. "GoodBlogs has had success in promoting businesses in the private sector, so NIBN wanted to test drive it for use as a way to promote an entire region."

To sign up to write for the website, which will launch in early June, please visit http://www.goodblogs.com/exploreiowa
