Decorah Middle School students recently participated in the fourth annual Mini Course Day.  For one day each year, middle school staff and volunteers from the community provide students with instruction in areas not available in the traditional curriculum.  All courses are either taught or supervised by a Middle School teacher.

Students selected the mini courses of most interest to them with the oldest students in the building choosing first.  There is no cost to the students for the mini courses as money from their fall magazine sales pays any fees and costs for supplies and transportation.

This year's offerings were Biking, Bowling, Canoeing/Kayaking, Colonial Kids, Cooking at the Co-op, Cresco Fitness Center, Cross Stitch, Disc Golf, Fashion with Flare, Fishing, Fly Fishing 101, Gamestar Mechanic, Geocaching, Gourmet Cooking, Horseback Riding, Juggling for Dummies, Knitting 101, Lawn Games, Metamorphic Ascension, Museums, Norwegian Baking, Roller Skating, Texas Hold'em, and Track and Field.
