Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Nikki Brevig honored

Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Nikki Brevig has been named the Chamber Executive of the Year by the Mid-America Chamber Executives.

The Mid-America Chamber region is made up of Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Nebraska. Each year nominations are sought to honor Chamber Executives who exemplify what it means to be the best in the chamber world. Candidates are judged in areas of expertise including finance, communications, legislative action and membership services performed by the chamber.

Brevig was hired by the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce in 2004.  Brevig was a driving force in Decorah being named one of Iowa's Great Places, and is the current co-chair of the Blue Zones Project. She has nearly doubled the budget of the DACC and increased staff numbers from a staff of two people to three full-time and one part-time employees. Brevig was a key player in the creation of the Northeast Iowa Regional Chamber group, and currently sits on the board of the Iowa Chamber of Commerce Executives, and she also plays an active role on the Nordic Fest Board and numerous other local initiatives.
