Planning & Zoning Commission delays decision on Serenity Drive project

The Decorah Planning & Zoning Commission has tabled a site plan for property on Serenity Drive in Decorah.

Traditions Management in the past had wanted approval for an assisted living facility on the property.  However, neighbors successfully fought that proposal, raising concerns about traffic patterns and fire protection.

The site plan presented at Monday night's Planning & Zoning Commission meeting called for using the property for an apartment complex instead.  Commission members weren't necessarily opposed to the site plan, but had nearly a half dozen questions they wanted answered.  The site plan will be discussed again at the June Planning & Zoning Commission meeting
