Ten students have won prizes in the HSNEI essay contest

The Humane Society of Northeast Iowa has selected ten students as winners in the First Annual HSNEI Essay Contest.

Essays were written on the topic of how a pet has enriched someone's life.

 In the K-5 division Mya Redinius won fourth place, Katie Storlie won third place. Nicolas Vergara won second place and Kalea Oftedahl won first place.  In the middle school division the winners were Dawson Bauer in third place, Robert Berger in second place and Kameron Sikkink in first place.  In the high school division the winners were Maggie Breitenstein in third place, Senia Sikkink in second place and Daiton Tietz in first place.

First place winners received $75, second place $50 and third place $25. Winning essays will be published in the HSNEI monthly newsletter.
