Decorah FFA attends the 85th Annual State Convention

Decorah FFA members received several recognitions at the FFA's 85th Annual State Convention.
 
Dustin Smith was named one of the six finalists for the Star Production Award and was recognized on stage along with his parents Eric and Dainna Smith and Decorah High School Principal Kim Sheppard and Decorah FFA Advisor Rick Twedt.  Dustin was chosen from over 300 Iowa FFA applications.
 
Also at the FAA State Conference, the Farm Business Management team of Adam Christopher, Tyler Lundtvedt, Brian O'Regan, and Brittany Nelson received a gold rating. the Ag Sales team consisting of Dustin Smith, Adam Knight, Eric Smorstad, and McKinleigh McCabe received a gold rating.; Adam Knight also received a gold rating in the Ag Sales individual competition; Garret Hemesath received a gold rating in the Greenhand Quiz Contest and Daiton Tietz, Garret Hemesath and Kenzie Hovden received a gold rating in Chapter Display.
 
The parliamentary procedure team of Dalton Anderson, Isaac Luzum, Aric Luzum, Cody Forde, and Cody Zidlicky received a silver rating, Kenzie Hovden received a silver rating in the Greenhand Quiz Contest and Emily Smith got a silver rating in the state FFA job interview contest.  
 
Receiving plaques and $50 awards were: Dustin Bigler in Forage Production - Entrepreneurship and Chad Courtney in Wildlife Management - Entrepreneurship.  
 
Micayla Christopher was awarded the Iowa Farmer Today Journalism Award as one of the top five reporters in the state of Iowa.  Adam Christopher, Micayla Christopher, Brittany Nelson, Tyler Lundtvedt, Brian O'Regan, Lukas Phillps, Dustin Smith, Emily Smith, and Ruth Sutton received the Iowa FFA Degree, the highest degree our state can bestow upon its members.
 
Daria Lundtvedt, Reid Drenth, and Lukas Phillips were selected for the State FFA Band: Adam Knight, Dominick Watson, Ashley Schwartzhoff, and Madison McCabe were selected for the State FFA Chorus: Randi Jo Carolan and Sawyer Wise were Chapter Voting Delegates; Micayla Christopher  won the WHO Public Relations Award:
