Quillin's agrees to pay cigarette sale fine

The Decorah Police Deaprtment performed compliance checks February 14th of all nine businesses that sell tobacco in the City of Decorah.  Eight of the businesses were compliant with laws forbidding the sale of tobacco to a minor.  Quillin's in the Centrum Plaza was non-compliant.

Now comes word that Quillin's has agreed to pay a fine for the violation, rather than appealing the ruling.  A hearing scheduled for Monday night's Decorah City Council meeting has been cancelled and the Decorah City County has officially accepted the settlement.
