Thursday's storm varied dramatically in the amount of snow it dumped on the area.
Rochester, Minnesota recorded 14 inches of snow, but Lanesboro had 1.6 inches. Forest City had 11 inches of snow--an all-time record for Iowa in May--but Decorah had just a dusting of snow.
At North Winneshiek School, Superintendent Tim Dugger took a photo Friday morning of kids playing in three inches of snow. Snow accumulations were heaviest to the north and west of Decorah, but no snow fell to the south and east.
