The Winneshiek County Convention & Visitors Bureau has begun accepting registrations for a marketing workshop in Decorah on May 30th from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Hotel Winneshiek.

The workshop features two keynote speakers from the Iowa Tourism Office--digital marketing manager Amy Zeigler and social media manager Brooke Miller.  Additional local experts include Iroc Web Designs website expert Ahmed Alkhalili, Seed Savers Exchange marketing manager Kelly Tagtow, Sims TV & Electronics representative Julian Kroll, Decorah Human Powered Trails marketing expert Lars Hovden; and personal trainer Tabita Green.

Said WCCVB Director Brenda Luzum, "This workshop is designed so people can learn how to take advantage of free and simple marketing tools and get started the second they leave the program. Attendees will learn tips and tricks that cost business owners nothing, and take but a few seconds or minutes to do."  The workshop will cover Google Local, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, traveliowa.com, search engine optimization, Google Analytics, blogging, smartphones, and QR codes.

The workshop costs $30 to attend, with discounts given to WCCVB members.  The registration deadline is Thursday, May 23rd.  The event is co-sponsored by Northeast Iowa Business Network, Winneshiek County Development, Inc. and Northeast Iowa Tourism Association.
