Decorah Police investigating an assault

Decorah Police say a female student from Luther College has reported being assaulted in the area of Dunning Springs around 9:00 Tuesday night.

The woman said she was knocked to the ground by a lone male assailant, who was described as a large-bodied man about 6 foot 3 inches tall, wearing a black hoodie over his head and possibly sweatpants.  When a group of people started making noise nearby, the man ran off.  The woman was not injured and reported the incident to police when she returned to campus.

The incident is under investigation by Decorah Police.  Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact Decorah Police at 382-3667.
