"Aggressive coyote" closes Van Pennen Park trail

Decorah Parks and Recreation is temporarily closing the Rocky Road Trail in Van Peenen Park. 

Reports to the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department state that an adult coyote has become increasingly aggressive while protecting its den which is located along the trail.  The trail will remain closed until further notice.

Rocky Road Trail is both a hiking and horse trail that leads from Upper Van Peenen Park down to the lower land near Quarry Hill Road.
