Decorah teachers, school district reach contract agreement

The Decorah Education Association and the Decorah Community School District have reached a tentative agreement for the 2013-2014 school year.

The agreement provides for an overall 4.1 percent increase in total school district costs for the next year year.  That includes salary, health care coverage, IPERS and Social Security payments.

Some changes were also made to language in the school district's contract with the teachers group.

The two sides characterized the contract talks as "collaborative."
