There are 357 high schools in Iowa. According to U.S. News & World Report, Decorah High School is the second best high school in the state.
U.S. News has just released its latest rankings of all high schools nationwide. It ranks Decorah High School #637 nationally. In Iowa, only Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School gets a better ranking. Decorah beats Ames, Cedar Falls, Marion Linn-Mar and a number of other larger high schools.
U.S. News says 91 percent of Decorah High School students ranked proficient in mathematics and 92 percent ranked proficient in reading. Those were the highest percentages among the best ten high schools in Iowa.
U.S. News also noted that Decorah HS also ranked well in college preparedness of its students.
