Yard Waste Disposal Site opens this Saturday

The City of Decorah's Yard Waste Disposal Site will open for the season on Saturday.
 
The City Yard Waste Disposal Site will be open Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
 
Because of road construction on Trout Run Road to the northeast of the site, people using the yard waste site will have to approach the site from the southwest, taking Trout Run Road from the Trout Hatchery.
 
Only grass clippings, leaves, garden waste, sticks, branches and trees will be accepted.  All branches and brush must be cut into lengths not to exceed eight feet.  Trees over six inches in diameter will not be accepted unless cut into lengths less than 20 inches and placed in the firewood pile.
 
Prohibited items include, but are not limited to, processed lumber, rock, concrete, roots, plastic, bags, cardboard boxes and any other containers.
