Maureen Michel of Decorah with Daughters of the American Revolution State Regent Barbara Halpin

Daughters of the American Revolution State Regent Barbara Halpin was the guest speaker at Saturday's meeting of Hannah Lee Chapter at the Congregational Church in Decorah.  She discussed the theme of her term--"Hands of Friendship Working Together to Build Membership."

Maureen Michel of Decorah was sworn in as a new member of Hannah Lee Chapter.  She was installed by chapter Chaplain Bev Gruhn of West Union.  State Regent Halpin then presented Michel with a DAR pin.

Halpin's special project for her term is to assist in the National DAR effort to restore the lay lights at the National DAR Library in Washington, D.C.  These lay lights are large stained glass windows which make up the ceiling of the library beneath the sky lights.  She reported that this project is moving along well with about half of the goal reached.
