NICC trustees have approved the purchases of several new pieces of equipment for the Calmar campus.

A hydraulic training system will be used by student in the Wind Turbine Repair Technician program at the Calmar campus.  The equipment will cost by purchased from Moss Educational and Industrial Training Solutions for $13,495

The NICC board has also approved the purchase of a "CNC vertical machining center" for computerized numerical control students at the Peosta campus. The equipment, to be purchased from Productivity Inc. for $39,496, enables students to acquire competitive machining skills that are in demand in the current manufacturing industry.

"It's very important that the College continually provides the most up-to-date equipment available for our students," said John Noel, vice president of Finance and Administration, in his report to the trustees. "This advanced equipment is what students should be working on during their programs at NICC, and this is what they will likely encounter with potential employers in the area."
