14 St. Benedict's School students have qualified for the Iowa finals of the National History Day competition

14 St. Benedict School students have won the right to travel to Des Moines May 6th for the state competition in National History Day.

Josephine Berlage wrote a historical paper titled, "Penicillin: A Turning Point in Medical History;" Erica Bouska had an individual exhibit titled "Ghandi Salt and Independence;" Blake Courtney and Logan Loney had a group exhibit titled "Norman Borlaug: A Turning Point in World Hunger;" and Everett Wegge created an individual documentary titled "Watergate: The Scandal that Changed a Nation."

Also Kaitlyn Rooney had an individual performance titled "Nellie Bly: A Turning Point in Mental Healthcare;" Brynne Valkosky had an individual performance titled "Lewis Hine: Showing the World the Truth;" Leah Weis, Emma Rooney, and Allison Groux had a group performance titled "1993 Shoots Into History;" Abigail Touissaint created an individual website titled "The Big Impact of Little Boy: Turning World War II Around;" Jenna Galligan created an individual website titled "Sesame Street: A Turning Point at the Intersection of Entertainment and Education;" and Morgan Minear and Marissa Weis created a group website titled "Jonas Salk: The Turning Points of the First Polio Vaccine".
