The self-described "hardest-working band in country music," Little Texas, has been hired to perform at the 2013 Winneshiek County Fair.
The Fair's five-night line-up of grandstand entertainment was announced Monday. It features Bill Riley's Iowa State Fair Talent Search at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 9th; Little Texas at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 10th; Upper Iowa Speedway stock car races at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 11th; the Tri-State Truck & Tractor Pull at 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 12th; and CC Bull Riding and Barrel Racing at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13th.
Little Texas has been touring the United States since 1988, sometimes playing more than 300 shows a year. Their first CD, "First Time for Everything," spawned five hit singles. Their second CD, "Big Time," sold more than three million copies and produced three #1 singles--"What Might Have Been," "God Blessed Texas" and "My Love." The group has toured on its own and also with other country acts such as Clint Black, Travis Tritt and Tim McGraw.
Grandstand entertainment buttons will go on sale in May for $16 each. The price will increase to $20 each during the Fair. Buttons are good for admission to all five shows.
