KDEC's Darin Svenson discusses sports with Decorah Lions Club members

Decorah Lions Club members have gotten a look at the Decraoh sports scene, courtesy of KDEC Sports Director Darin Svenson.

Svenson talked to the Lions Club about the recent successes of Decorah High School athletes and coaches.  This fall was the first time that a 3A school has won championships in both girls' and boys' cross country and football.  During the last eight years Decorah coaches have been awarded All-State honors 15 times.  Darin also mentioned the success in the state Challenge Cup and the number of Academic All-State students at the high school.

Svenson also congratulated the Luther College men's basketball team and coaching staff on their season, noting that just a few years ago, a team with their record would not have considered the end of the season a disappointment.

Darin was asked by a Lions member if it would be possible for him to act more excited during his broadcasts. He said that that was the sports fan in him, he loves what he does and that he was fortunate in that for him, his was the best job in the world.
