Accident causes $4,600 in damages

A two-car accident on HIghway 9 at Short Street Wednesday afternoon caused $4,600 in damages.

Decorah Police say 16-year-old Darbie Dennis of Decorah was southbound on Short Street around 3:00 p.m., waiting to turn left onto Highway 9.  She was in the intersection when the light turned red., so she continued her left turn onto HIghway 9.

44-year-old Kenneth Amdhal of Decorah was waiting to turn left from HIghway 9 onto Short Street and struck Dennis' vehicle as she turned.  Neither driver was injured nor ticketed.
