School Board approves bid for annual audit and bus garage lease

The Decorah Community School Board has approved a contract in the amount of $23,495 with Hacker and Nelson for the 2012-13 school year. Hacker and Nelson recently presented their audit for the 2011-12 year, and is the only firm being considered.

The district will also continue its lease arrangement with Bruening Rock Products for the bus barn lease. The lease will be for three more years at an approximate cost of $41,800 per year. Officials say other options have been explored but that this is the "best option right now."

The board had planned on discussing the possibility of creative ways to make up one snow day, but with this Monday's snow day the extended May schedule will include at least two extra days.
