The Chickasaw and Mitchell County Sheriff's Departments are NOT RECOMMENDING TRAVEL across their counties this morning.  Roads have become snow covered and the water from the earlier rains was beginning to freeze and create an icy layer underneath the snow.  These same conditions are being reported in other portions of northeast Iowa.

The La Crosse Office of the National Weather Service says snow will continue to fall across parts of Northeast Iowa, Southeastern Minnesota and into north central Wisconsin through mid to late morning, then taper off by late morning.  Snowfall in the Decorah area should amount to around 3 inches.  6 to 8 inches of snow is predicted in other parts of Northeast Iowa, across Southeastern Minnesota and into north central Wisconsin.Winter

Roads will snow covered in Northeast Iowa and possibly have some ice on them.
