Winneshiek Medical Center, in cooperation with Winneshiek, Fillmore and Houston County Public Health, is seeking community input on the health needs of northeast Iowa and southeast Minnesota.
The survey, called a Community Health Needs Assessment, is designed to gather information on unmet health needs in the area. It must be conducted every three years. Winneshiek Medical Center Chief Administrative Officer Gretchen Dahlen says, "The assessment will help us better understand - and ultimately improve - the health of residents in Winneshiek County and surrounding areas."
An online survey addressing potential health concerns is being conducted through March 22nd. It can be accessed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WMC_Community_Health_Assessment. The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete.
Additionally, two community input sessions have been schedule--one in Mabel from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 20th, at the Mabel Community Center and another in Calmar from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4th at South Winneshiek High School. At this point, no community input session has been announced in Decorah.
