Tom Straube elected to Spillville City Council

Tom Straube has won a special election to fill a vacancy on the Spillville City Council.

There were 82 votes cast in Tuesday's election--75 at the polling site and seven prior to election day as absentee ballots.  Straube got 43 votes,
Elsie Swehla had 23 votes and Benjamin VanHorn had 16 votes.

There were no outstanding absentee ballots, contested ballots, or provisional ballots.  The results will be official after the Winneshiek County Board of Supervisors canvasses the results on Monday, March 11th.
