The Trails from Freeport (TFF) project is now $4,000 closer to building a safe path between Freeport and the Trout Run Trail, thanks to a recent event sponsored by Mabe's Pizza of Decorah.

On February 19th, TFF supporters delivered Mabe's pizzas, with proceeds benefitting the TFF project. "It was inspiring to see the wide community support for this project," said TFF board member Jerry Weis.  "A huge thank-you to Steve and Connie White and the entire Mabe's crew for making this such a successful event."

The goal of the Trails from Freeport project is to develop a 1.5-mile paved path to eliminate pedestrian and cyclist traffic on County Highway A6W/Old Stage Road and connect Freeport safely to the Trout Run Trail. TFF has raised more than $90,000 towards the trail extension to date.

Donations can be made to Northeast Iowa RC & D, Trails from Freeport Fund, P.O. Box 125, Decorah, IA, 52101.
