City of Decorah, Winneshiek Farmers Market sign 2013 contract

Winneshiek Farmers Market officials and the Decorah City Council have reached agreement on a contract for the 2013 farmers market.

Once again the farmers market will lease space in the lower Co-op parking lot.  City officials have agreed to plant several trees in places where older and diseased trees were removed last year.  They have also allowed picnic tables to be placed near the parking lot.

The new contract will also allow the farmers market to reserve space in the parking lot starting at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, ahead of the 3:00 p.m. openings and to paint numbers on the parking lot surface to show where the farmers market booths will be laid out.
