Dr. Mark Hagerott has withdrawn his name as a candidate to become the next Luther College president. The resignation came Tuesday afternoon.
The Luther Board of Regents released the following statement:
"We are saddened to report that Dr. Mark Hagerott has withdrawn from the Luther College search process. He thanked the Search Committee for its interest in his candidacy and wished Luther success as it chooses a path forward.
On behalf of the college, we expressed to Dr. Hagerott great appreciation for the time and effort he and Mrs. Hagerott committed to this search process and we wished them well.
In light of this new development, the next step is for the Board of Regents to consider its options and choose a new course in connection with the college presidency."
