Snow should end by afternoon

The National Weather Service La Crosse Office is predicting periods of heavy snow until Tuesday, with snow fall rates of an inch per hour common.

After snow stops falling around noon or early afternoon, winds should pick up, making travel difficult to impossible across parts of the region.  Blowing and drifting snow will be the biggest concern Tuesday afternoon.
