Yes, it was snowier than normal in Decorah in February

Decorah weather observer Richard Bernatz is confirming what many of us already suspected--it was snowier than normal in Decorah in February.

Bernatz's latest weather summary shows 13 inches of snow fell in Decorah in February--six inches more than normal.  That produced 1.48 inches of precipitation during February--0.53 inches more than average,  In the 119 years for which records have been kept, just 19 Februaries have been wetter than 2013's.

Bernatz saysDecorah had an average temperature of 21.8 degrees during February.  That was 1.8 degrees warmer than average.
