State Representative Roger Thomas of Elkader has joined the House Rural Caucus for the 2013 session.

"As a rural legislator, I know there are many unique challenges facing our small towns and rural communities today.  By working together, this caucus will ensure rural Iowa has a strong voice in the Iowa House," said Thomas.

The Rural Caucus was created to give legislators an opportunity to work together on issues like boosting rural job creation, meeting Iowa's rural infrastructure needs and guaranteeing adequate resources for rural schools.

The caucus meets regularly during session to share ideas, draft legislation, and review bills that have an impact on rural Iowa.
