Long-time Decorah Lions member Roger Anderson has been honored for 45 years of service as a Lion.

Anderson and his wife Amme will be moving to Whitewater, Wisconsin to be closer to family later this year.

Anderson was sponsored for membership by former Superintendent of Schools Wayne Burns.  He has served in several capacities including president in 1972 and most recently as Lion Taskmaster, calling members to remind them to be manning the popcorn booth or providing a program for an upcoming meeting.

Anderson first came to Iowa from Minnesota, as a student at Luther College. He entered the Army after his sophomore year and served in Europe during World War II. He returned to Luther after completing his education and worked there for 27 years, 21 years as the head of the education department. In 1987, he was named college registrar.
