4-H program is doing fundraising

Posted: Tue, Feb 26, 2013 3:01 PM

Supporters of the Winneshiek County 4-H program are kicking off a new fundraising campaign that has the goal of bringing the Winneshiek County 4-H Endowment Fund balance to $50,000.  The fund balance currently stands at just over $25,000.

The fund was established in 2004 with the goal of having the interest income from this fund used for scholarships, camps, conferences, and awards, as well as providing program materials for new and existing programs.

The Winneshiek County Endowment Board recently kicked off their renewed campaign by sending out letters to potential donors.   Besides gifts of cash, the board invites supporters to consider donations of grain, securities, real estate, and life insurance.  Tributes and memorials are also available.

Endowment Board members will be present at the 4-H Omelet Breakfast this coming Sunday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Danan Lansing Building.  They will answer questions and visit with the public.

Contributions may be sent to the Winneshiek County Endowment Fund, Winneshiek County Extension Office, 325 Washington St. Suite B, Decorah, IA 52101.  For more information call (563) 382-8297.
