It happened 470 million years ago, which doesn't exactly make this "breaking news."
But with the news of the asteroid that just missed hitting Earth and the meteor that landed in Russia, the Washington Post has written a story highlighting the research being done by several geologists into an asteroid that struck Decorah.
Robert McKay, a geologist at the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.has been working with others on this "Big Bang." The crater left by the asteroid impact was three and a hlaf miles wide.
