Northeast Iowa Community College is offering three different fitness-related classes in Decorah starting Monday.

"Beginning Massage Techniques" (#19273) will be offered three consecutive Mondays from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. starting February 4th.  The class will teach the basics of hand, feet and back massage.  Participants will review basic anatomy and techniques to be able to massage family and friends. Because foot reflexology can be used as a tool to help children recuperate when they are sick, the class will also discuss basic pressure points.

"Pilates 101" (#19193) will teach participants how to condition the body, build flexibility and long, lean muscles, and improve strength and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips and back, as well as teaching students how to breathe right to relive stress. The class will run for eight consecutive Tuesdays starting February 5th, with each class running from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Discover Happy in downtown Decorah.

Also being held at Discover Happy is "Yoga Sculpt I: Beginner" (#19271), scheduled from 5:15 p.m. until 6:15 p.m. on six consecutive Wednesdays beginning this week.  Yoga Sculpt is a combination of power yoga and strength training. Each week will build upon the poses, deepen awareness of body positioning and teach methods that improve respiration. Participants can expect to experience a stronger body and mind.
