Dale e-mails Mr. Answer Person: "I'm assuming the eagles are getting a much deserved rest from the public intervention. Without intruding on their "privacy", can you tell us whether they are in fact nesting?"
Mr. Answer Person says: "A little bit of background is necessary here for newcomers. Last fall the Raptor Resource Project, which operates the bald eagle webcam, announced that the eagles were working on two nests instead of just one. The second nest is about 300 feet from the old one.
If the eagles decide to use the new nest, the webcam would be down for a year because the cameras are set up at the first nest and can't be moved to the second nest because that would disturb the nesting.
Raptor Resource Project director Bob Anderson says the answer is...
Well, actually, there isn't an answer yet. Says Anderson, "The eagles are still bouncing back and forth from the old to the new nest."
Stay tuned!
