A picture taken by a Decorah native of a kayaker on the Turkey River might be selected for the cover of the next Iowa Tourism guide.

The Iowa Tourism Bureau is holding an on-line contest through its Facebook page to determine which of three photos to use for the cover of the next "Iowa Travel Guide."  Voting runs through Friday at www.facebook.com/IowaTourism.

The Iowa Tourism Office received over 600 photos in December, but narrowed the submissions to three finalists--a picture of boaters having fun on an Okoboji lake entered by Brock Bringle of Storm Lake, a picture of a family hiking at Maquoketa Caves State Park submitted by Kelsey Delperdang of Cedar Rapids and the third photo sent in by Decorah native Jessica Rilling of a kayaker enjoying the Turkey River

If Jessica's photo is selected by Facebook votes, it will go on the cover of the spring 2013 four-color Iowa tourism guide.  The Iowa Tourism Office distributes more than 100,000 copies of the Iowa Travel Guide annually to travelers from every state and around the world.

The winning cover will be announced on Monday.
