Two finalists named for job of Luther College President

The list of candidates for the next President of Luther College has been narrowed to two.

Ann Hill Duin is a 1977 Luther College graduate currently serving as a University of Minnesota Writing Studies Professor.  She has held numerous leadership roles at the University of Minnesota, including Interim Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer; Associate Vice President and Associate Chief Information Officer; Senior Associate Dean, College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resource Sciences; and Vice Provost, Instructional Technology and University Partnerships.

Mark Hagerott is a professor and senior military officer of history at the U.S. Naval Academy.  He recently served as Director (Dean) of the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences at the U. S. Naval Academy, where he has also held several other leadership roles, including Special Assistant to the Provost, Chair of the Admissions Board, Chair of the Faculty Senate Personnel Committee, and Chair of the Faculty Senate Assessment Committee.  He is also a certified nuclear engineer.

The two candidates will make campus visits in early February.  The Luther College Board of Regents is expected to select one of the two candidates when it meets in Decorah in mid-February.
