Decorah school officials reminding the public about open enrollment deadlines

Iowa law allows parents and guardians of young students to file applications to open enroll into a school district they do not live in.

Decorah School District officials are reminding the public that there are deadlines, however, to file such applications.  The deadline for filing an open enrollment application if the student is in grades 1 through 12 is March 1st of 2013 for the 2013-2014 school year.  If the student will be in kindergarten for the 2013-2014 school year, there is a later deadline--September 1st.

Application forms for an open enrollment request are available at the Decorah Community School District Central Office at 510 Winnebago Street--across from Carrie Lee School.
