Trial scheduled for February 27th for woman accused of embezzling money from Aase Haugen Home

A trial will be held February 27th for 64-year-old Nancy Elsbernd of Decorah, who is accusing of taking more than $55,000 from Aase Haugen Homes over the last five or six years.

Police were called to the Aase Haugen Home on November 14th.  The police investigation resulted in charges of first degree theft and ongoing criminal conduct being filed against Elsbernd, who had worked for 36 years at the nursing home.  Bond has been set at $25,000 in the case.
