As if several days with highs in the 40s has not been enough to rid Decorah of the snow on the ground, the National Weather Service Office in La Crosse is predicting rain on Thursday.
The NWS says a wet weather system currently over Texas and Mexico will move nearly due north Thursday afternoon and evening. The system will bring abundant moisture and continued warm temperatures, meaning most of the precipitation will fall as rain. By Thursday evening, most of the region will be foggy and wet with rain falling. The rain will end Friday morning.
The National Weather Service is predicting "the snow pack will experience dramatic losses" on Thursday afternoon and evening.
Colder temperatures will move in Saturday as a cold front drives across the region. Highs Saturday will occur early in the morning, with falling temperatures the rest of the day.
