Three filmmakers will speak at Oneota Film Festival

Oneota Film Festival has announced that two filmmakers will attend the festival and another filmmaker will Skype with festival attendees.

Victoria Bruce will discuss her film "We're Not Broke" immediately following the screening of her film at 12:30 p.m.Saturday, January 19th, in room 206 of Valders Hall at Luther College.  The film explores the paradox of deep government budget cuts and the laying off of schoolteachers, police,firefighters and others at a time when multibillion-dollar American corporations are making record profits.

Filmmaker Justin Lubke will discuss and take questions about his film "Not Yet Begun to Fight" after it shows at 3:00 p.m.Saturday, January 19th in room 206 of Valders Hall.  The film combines spectacular cinematography with a compelling story of wounded veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan finding some peace by fly fishing in the beautiful streams of Montana.

Filmmaker J.J. Kelley will be in New York but will talk directly with audiences in Decorah and answering their questions after the 7:30p.m. Friday, January 18th, screening of "Go Ganges!"in Valders Hall.  In the film Kelley and friend battle unimaginable hardships on an epic adventure down India's sacred river.

Along with filmmaker appearances, a health care panel discussion will be held after "Escape Fire" and an education panel will be held after "World Peace and Other 4th-Grade Achievements."
