First Lutheran Food Pantry is asking for donations

A cooler at the First Lutheran Church Food Pantry has broken down, leading food pantry organizers to ask the public for monetary donations to help pay for a new cooler.

In general, donations of money to the food pantry are better than donations of food.  That's because the First Lutheran Food Pantry can spend $1 at the regional NE Iowa Food Bank in Waterloo and get $10 worth of food.  Money is also useful in purchasing those items--like a cooler--than are not usually covered by donations.

Donations to the First Lutheran Church Food Pantry can be sent to First Lutheran Church at 604 West Broadway Street in Decorah.  Be sure to indicate "Food Pantry" on your letter and your check.
