Decorah Police have released details of two traffic accidents last week.
On Wednesday at 1:22 p.m., Lyle Askelson of Decorah was at the intersection of Highways 9 and 52. Askelson saw a semi attempting to make a right turn from highway 9 onto Highway 52. He backed up to make room for the semi, but struck a car behind him being driven by Dustin Heichel of Austin, Minnesota. The accident caused $1,500 in damages.
On Thursday at 3:45 p.m., 20-year-old Andrew Herschberger of Decorah lost control of his car while he was driving north on Highway 52. Herschberger's car struck the car driven by Jamie Wagner of Mabel, which was alongside him in the slower lane. The two cars spun out of control, suffering a total of $3,500 in damages.
