Grants are an important source of funding for NICC

NICC received over $19 million in grants during fiscal year 2012, according to the school's director of grants and contracts, Kristin Dietzel.

"We received 87 percent of the funds we requested and had an overall grant award rate of 61 percent," says Dietzel.  Grants were received from 23 granting agencies in FY 2012, according to Dietzel.  Her office submitted an average of about four proposals per month.

Major grants included two from the he U.S. Department of Labor--$12.6 million for the Bridges2Healthcare consortium with seven other colleges and $5 million for the H-1B High Skills Training grant.
